Life gets more interesting when it isn’t square. The same goes for ideas, ambitions, and even the chocolate we indulge in. For decades, the distinctive peaks of a Toblerone bar have stood as a bold statement against a world of standardization. Its iconic shape has always been the non-square delight.

Now, Toblerone pushes its boundaries further with the introduction of its new diamond-shaped Toblerone Truffles. Already a cultural icon, the brand proves once again that it can evolve its own architecture by bringing a new angle to its signature identity. This kind of innovation also ensures the brand keeps up with the times because in an industry that moves fast, adapting quickly is essential.
This spirit of reinvention finds a meaningful parallel in the evolution of Philippine Fashion Week (PhFW). What was once a platform for young and established designers has grown into a broader movement celebrating Filipino creativity across industries. PhFW is challenging the traditional definition of fashion week, becoming a space for bold ideas, much like how Toblerone continues to reinterpret its recognizable form and flavor through new dimensions. Both continue to innovate without losing their identity, constantly adapting to cultural shifts to stay relevant, exciting, and unmistakably original.
To understand this shared creative drive, one only needs to look at the history of Filipino style. Philippine fashion has always been an eclectic blend shaped by early island ancestors, Spanish influence, American modernity, and centuries of Asian trade. The result is an aesthetic that is richly layered, uniquely inspired, and unmistakably Filipino.
Today, this narrative continues to evolve through shifts toward sustainability, the revival of the terno and barong, the celebration of indigenous prints, and the elevation of everyday Filipino life into aspirational fashion. This ongoing reinvention mirrors Toblerone’s own pursuit of originality and its refusal to remain static.
The new diamond shape embodies indulgence on a new level, offering an elevated sensorial experience that builds on Toblerone’s iconic identity while introducing a bold new dimension. It aligns with the high-stakes, creatively rigorous world of avant-garde Filipino fashion, where designers must adapt quickly, challenge norms, and reimagine form and function. In the same way, Toblerone brings a new dimension to its iconic silhouette, reflecting the evolving taste and expectations of the modern world.

Designers Ram Silva, Jaggy Glarino, and Jerome Salaya Ang were selected to interpret the boldness of this new product and bring the brand’s Never Square philosophy to life.

Jerome Salaya Ang immediately saw the product’s geometry as a rare gem, describing it as “a very precious stone” and a source of rebirth and energy. “It’s an old soul trapped in a stone,” he said. “When it’s released, it overflows, exuding power, energy, and vibrance.” His vision reflects his signature philosophy of order in chaos. The result is multifaceted, textured pieces that mirror the diamond’s sharp, defined lines and its sense of controlled intensity.

Jaggy Glarino, meanwhile, approached the collaboration from a completely different direction. “I obviously didn’t want to go the obvious route,” he shared. Known for seeing things through a unique lens, he explored modern brutalist architecture as his anchor. “I wanted a fresher point of view – something bold, fresh, and exciting.” His structural and architecturally driven interpretation channels the confidence and premium form of the diamond, embodying what Never Square means: refusing the expected and choosing perspective over predictability.
In a world that pressures us to fit into the box, Toblerone Truffles stands as a testament to the beauty of standing out. It is the new shape of originality, and like Philippine Fashion Week, it is here to spark originality in us all as we continually reinvent the runway.
